Doggy days out Wales. All dogs love to explore, so they’re going to love our Doggy Days Out adventures. It’ll also be a nice break from the norm and will challenge their senses.

We do a selection of private 1.5 hour walks with your dog to local woodlands, plus a full day trip to the beach for your furry family members. Only your dog(s) will be on board, which means no sharing or stress. All trips pick up from Kington, but we can pick up from other areas on request.

Beach Days

Our first adventure takes your dog to Ynyslas Beach, Borth on the Wales Coast Path. This trip is a premium ‘full workday’ and involves 3.5 hours of travelling (round-trip) from our base in Kington, Herefordshire. The rest of the time will be spent at the beach and resting at a dog friendly pub before heading back. Your pal will get to run around on the sand, paddle in the sea, and frolic in the dunes. This runs from Easter to October.

Woodland Walks

Our woodland adventures are designed as 2 to 3-hour round trips, which includes safe transport and a 1.5-hour trek through nature. These operate all year round and are local to Kington.

The first of our woodland trips visits Kinsley Wood/Offas Dyke: A 1.5-hour walk exploring part of the historic Offas Dyke Path.

The second woodland trip visits Fishpools, Radnor Forest: A moderate 1.5-hour, 2.5-mile journey through scenic woodland.

Our last trip takes us to Water Break Its Neck, Warren Wood: A 1.5-hour exploration of two trails, including the famous waterfall.

Customised Doggy Days Out (Bespoke Packages)

Do you have a specific destination in mind that isn’t on our standard menu? Whether it’s a specific regional nature reserve, a favourite country estate, or a particular coastal location, we can build a fully customised itinerary tailored entirely to your dog’s routine.

Bespoke Pricing: These exclusive trips are quoted individually based purely on the time involved, and mileage in the same way as our pet transport fees are worked out. We can pick up from anywhere for any length of time to any location within the UK.

Welfare Checked: As a DEFRA Type 2 licensed carrier, we will assess your chosen destination to ensure it is completely safe, secure, and appropriate for the length of the journey.

How it works

We only provide private trips to ensure your dog has our undivided attention.

Pick-up: We collect your dog from your home in our professional pet transport vehicle. MuttMeisters is DEFRA licensed, ensuring a safe and comfortable VIP ride.

Pricing: Our set trips cover pick-ups within Kington. If you are located further afield, we are happy to collect your dog, though a small travel surcharge will apply to cover the additional time and fuel.

Group Size: We take up to 4 dogs (up to 6 upon request, depending on size and manageability).

Difficult Dogs: We welcome “challenging” dogs – as long as they aren’t biters, they deserve one of our Doggy Days Out too!

Refreshments: Fresh water and tasty treats are provided on every trip. If your dog has a sensitive stomach or specific dietary needs, feel free to provide a day bag with their own food.

All dogs should have good recall if you want them to be let off the lead.

Your pooch will have a great time sniffing out new smells and generally having a fabulous time in nature where it will thrive before heading home.

Before they travel all dogs must be microchipped and wear a collar and tag. We would prefer they are up to date with their vaccinations and be recently wormed and flea treated to help avoid cross contamination.

What happens next?

Before we confirm, you will need to make a booking request using our online booking calendar. Simply scroll down to the ‘request booking’ button below.  Choose the date that you would like to book your trip and fill in the pop up form and submit. There is nothing to pay at this stage.

Once we’ve reviewed your form, we will arrange a free consultation to pop round and meet your dog. This is to ensure we’re a good fit and there are no surprises on the day. We’ll then send over an invoice so we can reserve your space.  Once payment has been received we’ll then confirm your booking.

You will be able to see your booking(s) in your account when you log in.

Please note we can only take the following combinations of dog sizes:

• Maximum 1 large, 2 medium, 2-3 small dogs
• Maximum 1 large 1 medium, 4 small dogs
• Maximum 1 large, 5 small dogs
• Maximum 2 medium, 4 small dogs
• Maximum 3 medium, 3 small dogs
• Maximum 6 small dogs

No Human Passengers: Our custom vehicle is insured and DEFRA licensed strictly for the transport of animals. We are legally unable to carry human owners on these trips. But don’t worry, we’ll take good care of your dog and make sure it has a ‘wag’tastic time.

Chief Muttmeister and business owner is Anne, and she has many years’ experience with dogs and cats and has 3 large dogs that she rescued from Egypt. Anne has owned several German Shepherds and Canaan breeds, so she has a lot of experience with larger and reactive dogs. She is also an experienced driver, having passed her test first time back in 1984. Anne holds a Type 2 Animal Transporter Authorisation. She is also DBS checked and a certified pet first aider.
