Arranging transportation for your pets can be a worrying time. It can be difficult to know who to trust.
You may have concerns and we are here to answer any questions and make sure you get the best care and attention possible for your pet. As a DEFRA licensed pet transporter we must adhere to strict guidelines in all aspects of pet transportation.
We hold a Type 2 'conditional' animal transporter authorisation, issued by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (part of DEFRA). So we are licensed to transfer cats, dogs and rabbits within the UK. However, we only provide the service in England, Wales and Scotland. We're not allowed to carry humans unfortunately.
Our pet transport (pet taxi/pet chauffeur) service is based in Kington, Herefordshire, in the West Midlands. We are located within easy reach of South Wales, such as Cardiff, and Swansea, as well as Powys and Ceredigion Mid Wales and Wrexham and Colwyn Bay in North Wales.
Other locations that we can get to within an hour or 2 are Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry in Shropshire. Also, Birmingham, Worcestershire. Liverpool and Manchester in the North West and Bristol and Gloucester in the South West are all within a couple of hours of our base. With easy access to the M6, M42, M4, M54, M5,M50, A49, A44, A483. We can travel to or from any England, Wales or Scotland destination.
The van is fully ventilated and insulated and heated in the winter. It is equipped with custom built cages that have escape hatches for a quick exit. The cages are very spacious and lined with anti-slip flooring and padded quilted floor linings and wool filled cushions and other bedding for your pet's comfort.

We were kept up-to-date on arrival times, the vehicle was squeaky clean and the different sized compartments and bedding worked well for our dogs. I was recommended to contact Anne by kennels where the dog I was pet sitting for stays. Anne’s communication was amazing before, during and after the trip. I booked a drop off at the kennels, and it was only a short trip (30 mins travel) but Anne’s passion and care shone through in organising this. She arrived at the time she said , the van was immaculate and suitable for the large dog she was transporting and her whole demeanour from the van to her uniform was totally professional. Meeting Anne on the day, you could immediately feel the warmth and love she has for animals.

What can I not say about this service. From the first email sent to MuttMeisters to the end delivery, everything ran smoothly, and the lady was brilliant with my new rescue dog, she knew she was nervous and still went out of her way to keep Sandy (at the time that was her name) as calm as possible. I would recommend this service to anybody who wishes to transport animals, truly caring people I can’t praise them any higher, and that is something coming from me who does not give praise lightly.

Booking my new dog’s transport was a simple process and I felt confident that MuttMeisters had the required expertise for the job and also had fully considered my dog’s health and safety during the journey. Communication throughout was excellent, I knew when my dog started his journey and an approximate ETA. Anne cared about my dog and was very good even though he has had a difficult past and is very frightened of people and changes to his life. Yogi was handled compassionately.
