Arranging transportation for your pets can be a worrying time. It can be difficult to know who to trust.
You may have concerns and we are here to answer any questions and make sure you get the best care and attention possible for your pet. As DEFRA licensed pet transporters we must adhere to strict guidelines in all aspects of pet transportation.
We hold a Type 2 'conditional' animal transporter authorisation which permits us to transfer cats, dogs and rabbits to anywhere with the UK (including Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man) up to 12 hours. We're not allowed to carry humans unfortunately.
Our pet transport (taxi/chauffeur) service is based in Knighton, Powys, in Mid Wales. So we are well located Cardiff and Swansea, in South Wales, and Wrexham and Colwyn Bay in North Wales.
Other locations we are very close to are the West Midlands, especially Herefordshire and Shropshire. So places such as Shrewsbury and Birmingham are within easy reach.
Liverpool and Manchester in the North West and Bristol and Gloucester in the South West are all within a couple of hours from our base. However, we can transport your cat, dog, or rabbit, to and from any UK destination.
The van is fully ventilated and insulated. It is equipped with custom built cages that have escape hatches for a quick exit. The cages are very spacious and lined with anti-slip flooring and padded quilted floor linings and wool filled cushions and other bedding for your pet's comfort.

We recently moved into the area and have a large German Shepherd dog that has separation anxiety and can be a bit boisterous, typical GSD.
We discovered Anne at MuttMeisters and she has been brilliant with our dog and keeping him calm and also to exercise him. This now means we can have the freedom to do other things now as before we would have to take him with us everywhere.

I was recommended to contact Anne by kennels where the dog I was pet sitting for stays. Anne’s communication was amazing before, during and after the trip. I booked a drop off at the kennels, and it was only a short trip (30 mins travel) but Anne’s passion and care shone through in organising this. She arrived at the time she said , the van was immaculate and suitable for the large dog she was transporting and her whole demeanour from the van to her uniform was totally professional. Meeting Anne on the day, you could immediately feel the warmth and love she has for animals.

What can I not say about this service. From the first email sent to MuttMeisters to the end delivery, everything ran smoothly, and the lady was brilliant with my new rescue dog, she knew she was nervous and still went out of her way to keep Sandy (at the time that was her name) as calm as possible. I would recommend this service to anybody who wishes to transport animals, truly caring people I can’t praise them any higher, and that is something coming from me who does not give praise lightly.

Booking my new dog’s transport was a simple process and I felt confident that MuttMeisters had the required expertise for the job and also had fully considered my dog’s health and safety during the journey. Communication throughout was excellent, I knew when my dog started his journey and an approximate ETA. Anne cared about my dog and was very good even though he has had a difficult past and is very frightened of people and changes to his life. Yogi was handled compassionately.
