Premium, specialised, solo, low-stress, VIP pet transport, focusing on solo journeys that offer animals a low-stress experience is our mantra. However, long-distance transport can take a significant bite out of a charity’s or rescue’s budget.
To support our existing rescue partners and those who have enquired about our services in the past, we are exploring the launch of regular shared rescue pet transport routes from England and Wales up to Scotland, designed exclusively to keep rescue costs down.
The core idea is to introduce a shared trip option strictly for registered charities and rescues, allowing multiple organisations to split journey expenses.
Shared Rates, Still VIP Treatment
It is incredibly important to note that sharing the journey never means compromising on welfare or quality. Even on these shared routes, every single animal on board will still receive the exact same hands-on, dedicated VIP treatment from me personally. Your rescues will receive the premium, attentive, and stress-free care that we pride ourselves on – we are simply adjusting the logistics to make it highly cost-effective for your budget.
How the Initiative and Pricing Work
To keep this service completely flexible and avoid rigid, confusing zones, pricing will operate on a flat rate per trip based on the total postcode-to-postcode mileage of the journey. Because the overall price is being heavily reduced by dividing it among participants, our standard 10% to 15% rescue discounts will not apply to these shared runs. Instead, the total round-trip price will simply be split between the participating charities, and it is entirely up to you how you choose to divide that cost.
To qualify for this shared rate, the requirement is at least one animal per charity booking. To give you maximum flexibility to split costs, a shared run can be achieved in two ways:
- Same-Way Sharing: Teaming up with another charity or rescue moving animals north on the same day.
- Backhaul Sharing: Splitting the overall round-trip cost by pairing up with a partner charity or rescue who utilises the vehicle’s return journey coming back down south (which typically runs the following day after an overnight stop).
If a journey does not fill up with a second rescue or charity on either leg, it will simply revert to a standard single-rescue VIP trip at our usual rate, where our standard 10% rescue to 15% charity discounts will still apply.
Route Pathways and Capacity
Our vehicle features exactly five secure cages with the following layout:
- 1 x Large cage
- 2 x Medium cages
- 2 x Small cages
Please note that we can accommodate multiple small dogs overall if they are able to comfortably and safely share a cage together. We can also take cats.
Depending on where the demand is, we will map out trips using two main directional flows:
- The Western Route: Collecting from the South West, Wales, and the West Midlands, pushing up the M6 or M1/A1 corridor depending on the destination in Scotland. Or vice versa.
- The Eastern Route: Collecting from London and the South East, Anglia, pushing up the M1/A1 or M6 depending on destination in Scotland. Or vice versa.
Because our routes are bespoke to the bookings, we can easily navigate between major hubs like Glasgow or Edinburgh and extend up to regions like Aberdeen once the vehicle is in Scotland. You can always dictate a bespoke route within the UK for your animals, subject to our availability.
Vehicle Approval and Expanded Capabilities
We are constantly working to improve our service to the rescue community. We now have our formal vehicle approval certificate, which means we are fully able to handle any length of journey, as well as airport and port pick-ups or drop-offs for rescue animals entering or leaving the UK. Please note that while this expands our capabilities significantly for international transit points within the UK, we will not be going overseas for the time being.
We Value Your Feedback
Before we officially launch this initiative, we want to ensure it perfectly aligns with your operational needs. We would greatly appreciate your feedback on the following points:
- The Route: Which region is your charity primarily moving animals from (e.g. South West, Wales, South East, Midlands), and would you primarily need a northbound trip or the next-day southbound backhaul?
- The Coordination: Would your organisation be able to team up with another friendly rescue to self-coordinate your animals, match up cage sizes, and split the total postcode-to-postcode trip cost for a joint date?
- The Rates: What does a viable, fair flat rate per trip look like to your charity for a long-distance shared run of this scale?
